North America

North America is home to 23 different countries and numerous territories, including the world's largest island, Greenland. From a travel perspective, North America is most commonly approached as several distinct destinations that include the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Greenland is far less popular, however, as it saw less than 70,000 visitors in 2015.

Across its 50 states, you will find nearly every type of climate, as well as 58 national parks that feature a great diversity of geography and wildlife. The United States is also home to some of the world's most populous cities, most notably New York City and Los Angeles. Whether you love nature or are more of a city person, there is surely something for every traveler to enjoy in this vast nation. Each state has its own unique identity, and it truly is a cultural melting pot. Just don’t underestimate the size of the country, New York and Los Angeles are almost 3,000 miles apart!


Canada

Canada is one of the largest countries in the world and stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific. In addition to endless miles of coastline, the country is home to the northern stretch of the Rocky Mountains, beautiful prairies and even arctic tundra. Canada actually has two official languages, English and French. Most of the active-speaking French population can be found in Quebec, which is a beautiful region filled with culture and architecture that is unique from other areas in the country. Toronto is the largest city in Canada, but If you head west, you will eventually pass through Alberta, home to the 1988 Winter Olympics, the beautiful national parks surrounding the Rocky Mountains, and eventually arrive at Vancouver, home to the 2010 Winter Olympics. It goes without saying that if the world's best athletes can find something to do in Canada, so can you!


Mexico

Mexico is a large country comprised of diverse geography, rich culture and fascinating history. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world can be found here, with almost 6,000 miles of coastline between the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. The water is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, diving and even whale watching! Beyond the beach there are many Mayan and Aztec ruins, the most famous being the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza. Though many travelers head to the more popular coastal destinations, the country's capital of Mexico City is not to be missed either. This cultural hot spot is home to incredible food, entertaining nightlife, and attractions galore!
